Using the SAP OData Connector

The MaintainX® SAP integration using the OData connector enables synchronization between MaintainX and SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition through SAP's OData APIs. Because both MaintainX and SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition are cloud-hosted, no on‑premise agent is required.

Data exchange uses SAP's OData APIs (V2 and V4). The workflows that are available depend on which OData services are enabled in your SAP environment.

Requirements

Before you set up the integration, confirm you have the following:

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition
• SAP administrator access
• The relevant OData services enabled and exposed in your SAP environment
• A Workato account, provided by your MaintainX integrations consultant

Setup Overview

The setup process for the OData connector consists of the following high-level steps. Each step links to the related SAP or Workato documentation.

1. Set up Communication Management in SAP to grant access to the required OData services.
2. Work with your assigned MaintainX integrations consultant to configure authentication in Workato. Supported methods for Public Edition are:
   • Basic Authentication
   • Client Certificate Authentication
   • OAuth BTP Authentication
