Before You Start
This article lists the software and access you need to set up the MaintainX/SAP integration, and provides a brief overview of the setup steps.
Requirements​
Before you start setting up the MaintainX/SAP integration, make sure you have the following:
- An SAP ECC6 instance, version 6.0 EHP8.
- Admin rights for your SAP instance.
- A license for the SAP JCo libraries (contact your SAP provider).
- A Workato account, provided by your MaintainX Integrations representative.
Setup Workflow Overview​
During the MaintainX/SAP integration setup, you'll need to make changes in your SAP ECC6 instance, your Workato account, and your SAP application server. You'll also need to install and configure software on your SAP Application server machine.
Setup Steps​
The setup process has the following major steps, which you should perform in this order:

Create a remote function call (RFC) destination in SAP

Set up a new SAP user for the integration
Requires: SAP ECC6 GUI

Configure the Workato On-Prem Agent (OPA)
Requires: Workato app (online), Workato On-prem Agent installer, SAP Application Server, SAP JCo Libraries

Create the SAP direct connection to Workato
Requires: Workato app (online), SAP ECC6 GUI (for reference), SAP Logon Pad (for reference)

Configure SAP to Send IDocs to Workato
Requires: SAP ECC6 GUI
