Create a Custom Graph Report

You can build a graph report using multiple sources in your MaintainX organization and add it to a custom dashboard as a card. To build your graph report, you need to define the following (depending on the visualization type):

Create a Graph Report​
To create a graph report:
After selecting the Create Report option in the Reporting module, follow these steps to create a graph report:

In the Report Builder, select the Build tab.

In the Build tab, select one of the following visualization type:
- Bar
- Line
- Pie

Add the following to build the report:
Visualization Type Option - Bar
- Line
- X-axis
- Y-axis
- Segment by
Pie - Category
- Metric

(Optional) Select the Filters tab and add filters to narrow the information in your report.

In the Card Name field, enter a name for your report card. This is the card that will display the report in any custom dashboards you add it to. For details, see Share a Custom Report.

Do any of the following:
- Select Export to export the data right away. For details, see Export a Custom Report.
- Select Add to Dashboard to add your report to a new or existing custom dashboard. For details, see Add a Custom Report to a Dashboard.
Configure a Graph Report​
To configure a graph report, you need to do the following:
- Add dimensions to shape your report.
- Apply filters to focus on specific data.
The list of dimensions and filters varies depending on the entity you select. For details, see Datasets.
Add Dimensions to a Graph Report​
In the Report Builder, add columns to start creating your report. You can drag the columns to organize them.

In the Report Builder, select the Build tab.

In the Dimensions section, select Add. The Select Columns panel opens.

In the Select Columns panel, select next to the column name to add it to the report.
tipUse the search bar to filter the column names.

(Optional) In the Dimensions section, select an axis and do any of the following:

Select the Name field to change the name of the column. The updated name automatically appears in the table.

Select the Aggregation field and apply an aggregation type. The aggregation type varies based on the column it applies to (Count, Min, Max, Average, …). For details, see Aggregations.
notePrimary dataset fields do not require an aggregation, but using one might affect how your data is grouped and displayed.

In the Settings section, set Maximum to the number of fields you want to appear in the report.
Add Filters to a Graph Report​
Before applying filters, you must add dimensions to the report. For details, see Add Dimensions to a Graph Report.

In the Report Builder, select the Filter tab.

Select Add. The Select Filters panel opens.

In the Select Filters panel, select next to the column name to add it to the list of applied filters.
tipUse the search bar to filter the column names.

Depending on the selected filters, do the following:
