App Installation Stuck Pending (Android)

This page provides troubleshooting advice for when you try to install or update the MaintainX mobile app for Android, and the installation gets stuck in a “pending” state.

For more troubleshooting instructions consult the Google Play Help Center.

Check your internet connection

Your download/update issue might be as simple as a bad internet connection.

  • Make sure that your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network or a mobile internet connection.
  • If you’re using Wi-Fi, open a website in a web browser on another device to make sure the connection is working.
  • In a web browser on another device, test your Internet speed. If the speed is good, but your app download is still slow, restart both your modem/router and your mobile device.

For additional troubleshooting advice, see Fix internet connection problems on Android devices in the Google Play Help Center.

Change your data download settings

If you only allow downloads over Wi-Fi, and there’s a problem with your Wi-Fi connection, you won’t be able to download or update the MaintainX app. To test whether a problem with your Wi-Fi network is preventing the MaintainX app from downloading, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Select the profile icon.
  3. From the profile options, select Settings.
  4. Select Network Preferences > App download preference.
  5. Select Over any network.

If the download resumes, you might have an issue with your Wi-Fi network. Try restarting your modem/router or contact your Internet service provider for assistance.

Check for other pending or in-progress updates

If you download or update multiple apps at the same time, the MaintainX app update might show as pending until other Google Play finishes downloading/updating other apps in the queue.

To see whether you have other downloads/updates in progress:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Select the profile icon.
  3. From the profile options, select Manage apps & device.
  4. Select the Manage tab to display a list of all of the apps on your device. You can see which ones have pending or in-progress updates.

To update the MaintainX app ahead of other pending updates, cancel any other pending or in-progress downloads.

Check your available storage space

If you don’t have enough storage space left on your device or SD card, you cannot download or update the MaintainX app.

To check how much storage space you have left, follow these steps:

  1. On your Android device, open Settings.

  2. Select Storage.

    note

For Samsung Galaxy devices, Storage settings might be located under Battery and device care.

  3. If your device is low on storage space, follow the instructions in Free up space in the Google Play Help Center.

Uninstall and reinstall the app

If you can’t download the MaintainX app successfully, try uninstalling and reinstalling it. When you reinstall, Google Play installs the latest version.

For details, see the instructions in the Google Play Help Center: Uninstall and reinstall the app

Clear Google Play app cache and data

Clearing the Google Play cache might allow your download/update to resume normally.

note

Before you clear the cache and storage data, close the Google Play Store app.

To clear the cache and data, follow the instructions in Uninstall and reinstall Google Play Store updates in the Google Play Help Center

Download the MaintainX app via web browser

If you can’t get your download/update to resume in the Google Play Store app, try downloading the MaintainX app directly from your mobile or PC browser.

  1. Visit the Google Play Store.
  2. Log into your Google account.
  3. Type MaintainX into the search bar and follow the download instructions.
