Why Can’t I Receive MaintainX Notifications?

This page provides troubleshooting advice for when you do not receive notifications on your device from the MaintainX application.

Allow MaintainX notifications on your device

Make sure that notifications for MaintainX are enabled in your mobile device's system preferences. Not allowing access might prevent you from receiving notifications from the MaintainX app.

Check Your Internet Connection

The reason you're not receive notifications might be as simple as a bad internet connection.

  • Make sure that your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network or a mobile internet connection.
  • If you’re using Wi-Fi, open a website in a web browser on another device to test whether the connection works.
  • In a web browser on another device, test your internet speed. If the speed is good, but your app download is still slow, restart both your modem/router and your mobile device. You can test your internet speed using an online speed test tool, or by contacting your service provider.

Check Whether Your Contact Information Is Correct

Verify that your contact information in MaintainX is correct. This information is necessary to receive notifications.

  1. From the overview or the More screen, select Account.
  2. Select the (edit) icon next to your name.
  3. Verify that your email address or phone number is correct. If the information isn't correct, you should correct it.

Check Whether Your MaintainX Notification Settings Are Toggled On

Verify that your notification settings are toggled on your device.

  1. From the overview or the More screen, select Account.
  2. In the ACCOUNT SETTINGS section, select Notification Settings.
  3. Select the entity for which you want to verify and make sure the actions are toggled on.
  4. Select Push Notifications or Email Notifications.

When you toggle on actions for the entities, you receive notifications for them either by push notifications, email notifications, or both.

Be aware that there are some actions that you do in MaintainX that do not trigger a notification. For example, if you’re an Administrator or a Full User, creating a work order does not trigger a notification. For more information on notification triggers, see About Notifications.

Force Quit the Application and Restart It

You might be able to fix notification issues by restarting the MaintainX application.

Uninstall the MaintainX Application and Reinstall It

You might be able to fix notification issues by uninstalling and reinstalling the MaintainX application.

After re-installing the MaintainX application, make sure to Allow Notifications on your mobile device.

Verify that MaintainX Domains Are Whitelisted on Your Network

Verify that MaintainX domains are whitelisted on your network. If these domains aren't whitelisted, it may cause issues with accessing product notifications, news, or the MaintainX application.
