Create a New Automation
You can create automated workflows in MaintainX based on your meter readings. You can use a manual or an automated meter to create a new workflow automation. Each automation has a trigger, a condition, and an action.
To set up an integration for an automated meter, reach out to your MaintainX representative.
To create a new automation:
-
From the sidebar, select Automations.
-
Select + New Automation.
-
Enter a name for the automation and a Description.
-
Do one of the following:
- Select a Meter from the drop-down. The related Asset appears in the drop-down above.
- Select an Asset from the drop-down. The related Meter appears in the drop-down below.
-
Choose one of the following meter reading trigger fields and set the value.
-
In the For drop-down, choose from one of the following options to specify when the trigger will occur:
-
One Reading: Triggers the action after one reading reaches the trigger threshold.
-
Multiple readings: Triggers the action after multiple readings reach the trigger threshold.
- Set the value for the Of the last and Readings fields. For example, for more than 5 of the last 10 readings.
-
A reading longer than: Triggers the action after readings reach the trigger threshold for a specified amount of time.
- Set the value for the first field and choose Minutes or Hours. For example, for longer than 2 hours.
-
-
Optionally, add a condition to limit when the workflow should be initiated.
-
Choose an action to specify what happens when the workflow is triggered.
-
Select Create.
The new automation is created.
Triggers
The following triggers are available for a workflow automation:
Field | Creates an Action When |
---|---|
Is above | The value entered is higher than the specified threshold value. For example, a temperature reaching above 10 degrees Celsius. |
Is below | The value entered is lower than the specified threshold value. For example, a temperature reaching below 10 degrees Celsius. |
Is equal to | The value entered is equal to the specified threshold value. For example, a temperature reaching exactly 10 degrees Celsius. |
Is not equal to | The value entered is not equal to the specified threshold value. For example, a temperature falling below a threshold of 10 degrees Celsius. |
Is above or equal | The value entered is higher than or equal to the specified threshold value. For example, a temperature reaching 10 degrees Celsius or above. |
Is below or equal | The value entered is lower than or equal to the specified threshold value. For example, a temperature reaching 10 degrees Celsius or below. |
Is between | The value entered is between the range value set. For example a temperature reaching between 10 to 20 degrees Celsius. |
Increases by (from last trigger) | Every time the meter reading increases by the specified threshold value. |
Decreases by (from last trigger) | Every time the meter reading decreases by the specified threshold value. |
Increases by (from last reading) | The difference between the last reading and the one before increased by the specified threshold value. |
Decreases by (from last reading) | The difference between the last reading and the one before decreased by the specified threshold value. |
Conditions
The following conditions are available for a workflow automation:
Condition | Description |
---|---|
Between Certain Hours | For example, between 10:00 pm and 12:00 am. |
Actions
The following actions are available for a workflow automation:
Action | Description |
