Work Requests
A work request is a request to create a work order for maintenance or other work.
-
Requester users create work requests from the MaintainX application. See Create a Work Request.
-
Administrators can also set up web-based request portals where people who don’t have a MaintainX account for your organization can create work requests.
-
Administrators approve or decline work requests. See Approve or Decline Work Requests.
-
Approved work requests become work orders that can be assigned to the teams or individuals who will complete them.
By default, only Requester users can create new requests from the MaintainX application. Administrators and Full Users can create work orders directly, so the request and approval process is redundant for them.
The Requests Module
The Requests module is where Requester users and Administrators manage work requests in the MaintainX application. Requester users can create new requests and see the status of their requests. Administrators must view, approve, and decline all requests.
For more information, see View and Filter Work Requests.
Request Portals
A request portal is a web-based standalone form, where anyone can create a work request for your organization. You don’t need a MaintainX account to submit a request via a portal. Anyone who has the URL or scans a portal’s QR code can create a request.
Administrators can set up as many request portals as your organization needs, and share them via dedicated links or QR codes.
Request Routing
Request routing allows anyone who creates a work request from the MaintainX application or a request portal to assign it to a team in your organization. Assigned work requests appear in the team’s requests queue, where Administrators on the team approve or decline them.
For information about how to set up request routing, see Set Up Request Routing.
