Delete a Part

This article explains how to delete a part, bulk delete parts, restore a part, and bulk restore parts in MaintainX.

To delete a part:

  1. From the sidebar, select Parts Inventory.
  2. Select the part you want to delete.
  3. From the part details, select (more options).
  4. Select Delete.
  5. When prompted, select Confirm to delete the part.

The part is deleted.

When you delete a part that's used in an active work order, the part field becomes blank. You can choose to add a different part to the work order. For more information, see Edit a Work Order.

Bulk Delete Parts​

You can only bulk select parts to delete in the web application.

To bulk delete parts:

  1. From the sidebar, select Parts Inventory.

  2. Select (Split View) or (Table View).

  3. To select the parts in bulk:

    1. Hover over the icon of each part you want to select until a checkbox appears.
    2. Select the checkbox.
  4. Select the action Delete.

  5. When prompted, select Yes to confirm.

The parts are deleted.

Restore a Deleted Part​

When you delete a part from the split view, its details page stays open. While the page is open, you can restore the part. If you navigate away from the details page, you can no longer restore it from the split view, but you can create a new part with the same name.

To restore a deleted part:

  1. While on the deleted part, select the (more options) icon on web or (more options) icon in the mobile app.
  2. Select Restore.
  3. When prompted, select Yes to confirm and the part will be back in the parts list of the organization.

Bulk Restore Parts​

You can only bulk restore parts in the web application.

  1. From the sidebar, select Parts Inventory.

  2. Select (Table View).

  3. In the Table view, select (Settings).

  4. In the Table view settings, go to Options and toggle on Show only deleted parts.

  5. Select Apply.

  6. In the Table view, deleted parts appear highlighted.

  7. To select the parts you want to restore:

    1. Hover over the icon of each deleted part you want to restore until a checkbox appears.
    2. Select the checkbox.
  8. From the Edit Part toolbar, select the (Restore) icon.

  9. When prompted, select Confirm to restore the selected parts.
