Edit a Maintenance Plan

This article explains how to edit a maintenance plan.

When you edit a maintenance plan, you’re updating the base work order for the plan. Your changes will affect all future work orders, but not existing work orders generated before you made the changes.

This is helpful if you’ve already created a maintenance plan and generated work orders, but later decide to adjust specific details, such as adding an additional procedure or updating the priority for future work orders.

To edit a maintenance plan:

  1. From the sidebar, select Maintenance plans.
  2. Locate the maintenance plan you want to edit, and select it to view its details.
  3. Select (more options).
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Update the maintenance plan's information as needed.
  6. Select Save changes.
  7. When prompted, select Confirm to apply your updates to the maintenance plan.

After you save your updates, the changes apply only to newly generated work orders. Existing work orders generated by the maintenance plan will not reflect those updates.
