As the permit creator or requester, you’ll have to make some changes to the initial permit that you submitted.

- Select the permit you’ll need to make changes to.
- Select Edit procedure values.
- In the Change procedure values dialog, when you select Confirm, it clears all previous approval decisions and returns the permit to Draft status. The permit must then go through the approval process again.

When a permit reaches the end of its active window before the work is completed, its status changes to Expired. While the permit is expired, users can't continue work on the associated work order. To unblock the work order, you can either extend the permit's active window or create a new active permit for the work order.
To extend a permit:
- From the sidebar, select Permit to Work.
- Navigate to the permit you want to extend.
- Select Edit.
- Select a future date in the Expiration date field.
- Select Update.
The permit is now in pending approval. For more information on how to approve the permit, see Approve a Permit to Work.
