Create a Global Procedure
This feature is only available in the MaintainX web application for Enterprise accounts. To use it, you must have a Global Leader user role. For details, see Global Leader.
This article explains how to create a global procedure and share it across multiple sub-organizations.
A global procedure is a procedure created at the Global level and shared across multiple sub-organizations. Global procedures are identified by a Global Procedure tag.

With global procedure, you can make sure that workers have access to the latest version of a procedure.

You can create or add procedures in the following ways:
-
note
As a Global Leader, you cannot access the list of assets, locations and, teams available in your sub-organizations when creating a global procedure. Only organization Administrators can access and add them to procedures.
-
Once you are finished creating the procedure, select Save Template.
The global procedure appears in the Procedure Library with Global Procedure and Unpublished Changes tags.
-
(Optional) You can share the global procedure with your organization. For details, see Share a Global Procedure.
Assign Procedure Fields to Teams or Users
You can make procedure fields assignable to one or more teams or users. When a field is assignable, an assigned user must complete it before the work order that includes the procedure can be completed.
You can create a global procedure with assignable fields, but you can't assign the fields from the global organization. Instead sub-organizations that use the procedure make the assignments. They can choose to:
- Assign the procedure fields in the procedure itself. In that case the fields will have the same assignees in every work order.
- Assign the procedure fields when they create work orders that use the procedure.
For more information about assignable procedure steps, see Procedure Fields.
