About Global Dashboards

availability

This feature is only available in the MaintainX® web application for Enterprise accounts. To use it, you must have a Global Leader user role.

You can create custom dashboards at the Global level and share them across your multiple sub-organizations to standardize the dashboards you use across your organizations.

Requirements

To create and manage global dashboards:

  • Your enterprise must have a Global Organization with two or more sub-organizations. For more information, see About Global Organizations.
  • You must have a Global Leader user role.

Global Dashboard Concepts

Global Leader and Global Dashboards

A Global Leader supervises global features in MaintainX. The Global Leader can manage and share dashboards for all organizations at the Global level.

As a Global Leader, you can:

  • Turn a local dashboard into a global one: Find a local dashboard in your global organization or any of its sub-organizations and convert it into a global dashboard.
  • Share dashboards: Distribute global dashboards across all organizations. Shared global dashboards are easily discoverable with the Global tag.

Global Dashboard

A global dashboard is an interface that brings together metrics and insights about an organization's performance. Only a Global Leader can convert a local custom dashboard at the Global level and share it across multiple sub-organizations.

Local Dashboard vs. Global Dashboard

  • A local dashboard is a dashboard created either at the global or sub-organization level.
  • A global dashboard is a converted local dashboard that you can share across your sub-organizations.

As a Global Leader, you can:

  • View and update all local dashboards across the global and sub-organizations you manage.
  • Share global dashboard updates with your sub-organizations.
  • Manage local and global dashboards from a single place.

Converting a Local to a Global Dashboard

As a Global Leader, you can convert a local dashboard into a global dashboard. Depending on where you initiate the conversion, the local and global dashboards can either remain linked or function independently.

  • From the Local Dashboards tab: Select Keep the original in Custom Dashboards to keep the local dashboard and link it to the new global dashboard. Any changes you make to the global dashboard also appear in the linked local dashboard.
  • From the Global Dashboards tab: Turning a local dashboard creates an independent global copy. Changes to either dashboard don't affect the other.

When shared, the newly converted global dashboard appears in both the global organization's and sub-organization's dashboard screens with a Global tag.

Global Dashboard Limitations

  • As a Global Leader, you can't:

    • Create global dashboards from scratch. You must first convert a local dashboard from a sub-organization, then you can edit and share it as a global dashboard.
    • Restore a deleted global dashboard.
  • Custom fields and organization-specific entities, such as locations, in shared global dashboards are only visible to sub-organizations that have access to those fields.

  • Sub-organizations can't edit globally managed dashboards.
