Convert a Local Dashboard into a Global Dashboard

This feature is only available in the MaintainX® web application for Enterprise accounts. To use it, you must have a Global Leader user role. For more information, see Global Leader.

As a Global Leader, you can convert a local dashboard into a global dashboard, which you can manage at the global organization level. Depending on where it belongs determines how the original and global dashboards work after conversion.

Where the Local Dashboard Originally BelongsWhat Happens After Conversion
A sub-organizationYou can keep the original dashboard and link it to the global dashboard. Changes to the global dashboard also apply to the linked local dashboard.
The global organizationThe conversion creates a separate global copy. Changes to either dashboard don't apply to the other.

Convert a Local Dashboard​

  1. From the sidebar, use the organization picker to open your global organization.

  2. In the Global Organization section, select your global organization, then select Reporting.

  3. Select Dashboards, then navigate to the Local dashboards tab.

  4. Locate a local dashboard you want to convert to a global dashboard.

  5. In the Changes column, select (Convert to global dashboard). A confirmation dialog appears.

  6. In the confirmation dialog, do the following:

    1. (Optional) Select Keep the original in Custom Dashboards to keep the current version of the local dashboard on the organization level it belongs to.
    2. Select Convert.

    The newly converted dashboard appears in the Global Dashboards tab.

Share a Global Dashboard with Sub-Organizations​

Converting a local dashboard from a global organization doesn't automatically share it. To share it with your sub-organizations, see Share a Global Dashboard.

Once shared, the dashboard appears on the Dashboards screen in both the global organization and its sub-organizations with a Global tag.
