The Assets module in MaintainXยฎ gives you flexible ways to view and filter your assets.

View Assets in the Web Appโ
The MaintainX web app has two viewing options for assets: Panel and Table. The MaintainX mobile app only supports a list view of assets.
Panel Viewโ
The Panel view shows a list of assets and details about the selected asset side by side.
To access the panel view:
- From the sidebar, select Assets.
- In the Assets module, select the (Panel View) icon to switch to the Panel view.
The list shows the assets in your organization.
- Use the Sort By option to choose how you want to see your assets listed.
- Select an asset from the list to open the asset's page on the right.
Table Viewโ
The Table view is a compact table of assets and asset form fields. It gives you an overview of the assets in your organization. You can also use it to bulk-edit assets (see Bulk Edit Assets).
In Table View, all your organization's assets appear in the same flat list. If your plan includes parent and sub-assets (see Asset Hierarchies), sub-assets are not grouped with their parent assets.
To access the table view:

From the sidebar, select Assets.

In the Assets module, select the (Table View) icon to switch to the Table view.

Select (Settings) for more options.
Option Description Results per page The number of assets to display per page. Show deleted Assets Toggle this option on to show deleted assets in the table view. Rows for deleted assets are highlighted. Column options Change the order of columns by dragging the (reorder) icon. Select the X icon to remove columns from the table. Select a column to add Select the dropdown to show the list of additional columns you can add. Select a column name to add the column to the table. When you're finished making changes, select Apply.
Explore the Asset Pageโ
When you select an asset from the list, the asset's page opens. Each asset has its own sections and tabs where you can view information about that asset and take actions.
For every asset you'll see the following in the asset header section:

Asset name: The name of the asset, with a link icon to copy a direct URL to this asset.

Installation note (if applicable): For assets installed from an Asset Package, the package source is shown below the name.

Ask MX Assist button (Enterprise plans only): Opens MaintainX Assist for this asset, so you can ask questions, get recommendations, and surface relevant manuals or procedures.

Edit button: Opens the asset form to update the asset's details.

More options menu: Select (more options) to access additional additional actions such as:
- Copy to a new asset
- Use the asset in a new meter
- Download a history of changes to the asset
- Delete the asset

Insights, Details, and History tabs: Select these tabs to learn more about the asset.
Insightsโ
The Insights tab is the default view and the first section you see when you open an asset. It gives you a real-time snapshot of the asset's current state and recent maintenance activity.

Detailsโ
The Details tab contains the asset's full configuration, reference information, and everything connected to the asset.

Historyโ
The History tab provides a chronological audit trail of significant actions taken on the asset. Each entry shows:
- The user's profile picture and name
- The date and time of the action
- A description of what occurred
Actions logged in the History tab include:
- The asset's creator and creation date
- Changing the asset's location
- Changing the asset's manufacturer
- Creating and completing a root cause analysis report.
Filter Assetsโ
Use filters to control which assets appear in the Assets module. You can filter by most asset properties. For example, to only see assets with a specific status or type.
Add a Filterโ

Select + Add Filter.

Choose an asset field from the list. The field is added to the filter bar.

Select the new field to open its filter options.

Choose a filter condition. The condition determines what makes an asset match the filter.
Condition Description Notes One of Finds assets where the filter field matches one or more values that you specify. Use this to include specific assets in the view. None of Finds assets where the filter field does not match any of the values that you specify. Use this to exclude specific assets from the view. Is empty Finds assets where the filter field has no value. Use this to find assets that are missing data in a field. Is not empty Finds assets where the filter field has a value. Use this to find assets that have data populated in a field.
Select Reset to remove your filter criteria if needed.

From the bottom navigation bar, select Assets.

Select the (Filter) icon to add a filter.

In the Add Filter options, choose an asset field to display the Filter by options.

In the Filter by options, choose a filter condition. The condition determines what makes the asset match the filter.

Choose an asset field as a value.

Select Done to return to the Add Filter options. Add more filters as needed.

To apply your filter, select Apply.
Select Clear Filters to remove your filter criteria if needed.
For optimal search using Asset Filters, we recommend including as much relevant information as possible to your asset form fields when you create assets. For more information, see Create an Asset.
Save Filtersโ
You can only save filters in the web app.
You can save the current filters in the Assets module as a preset that you can reuse later. By default, a saved filter is only available to you. When you save a filter, you can choose to make it visible to your whole organization.
- Create a filter as described in Add a Filter.
- In the filter toolbar, select Save Filters.
- On the Save to my Filters page, enter a name for the new filter.
- If you want to make the saved filter an organization-wide filter, select Make this filter visible organization wide.
- Select Submit to save.
You can't change a filter after you save it. If you want to make an already saved filter visible to your whole organization, you have to recreate it and resave it as an organization-wide filter.
View an Asset's Work Order Historyโ
The Insights tab for any asset shows its work order history. You can see a list of work orders for maintenance on the asset, and a chart that shows the number of work orders created and completed in a specific date range.
To view an asset's work order history:
- Select the asset whose work order history you want to see.
- In the Insights tab, navigate to Work Order History.
- Select the (Settings) icon to change the date range for the work order history.
- Select the (Filters) icon to filter the work orders included in the work order history.
- Select Apply to save the changes.
Work Order History Chartโ
The work order history chart shows the number of work orders created and completed in the date range.
- Hover over any dot in the chart to see the total number of work orders created and completed for that period.
- Select any dot in the chart to display a list of work orders for that specific period.
- You can toggle the list between Created and Completed work orders.
- Select any work order in the list to view its details.
Work Order History Listโ
The asset's work order history list shows all of the work orders for the asset in the date range, after any filters are applied.
- Select any work order to view its details.
- If there are too many work orders to fit on the page, select Show More.
