Meter Exports

This article explains how to export meter data to CSV (Excel), and provides detailed descriptions of how MaintainX exports data.

Export Meter Data​

  1. From the sidebar, select Reporting.

  2. In the Reporting module, go to the Export Data tab.

  3. Select Meters.

  4. Use the Filters button to filter the meters you want to add to the export file:

    AssetSelect one of the available options:
    • Any: includes all assets.
    • None: excludes all assets.

    You can also select assets individually.
    LocationSelect one of the available options:
    • Any: includes all locations.
    • None: excludes all locations.

    You can also select locations individually.
  5. In the Export Format section, select CSV (Excel).

  6. In the Columns section, select the columns to include in the export file. For details about each column, see List of Meter Export Columns.

  7. Do one of the following:

    • Select Schedule to export the data on a regular schedule. For details, see Scheduled Data Exports.
    • Select Export to export the data right away. MaintainX saves the exported file to the download center, and a download notification appears.
  8. If you selected Export in the previous step, from the download notification you can do any of the following:

    • Download the exported file.
    • Select View in Download Center to open the download center. The exported file appears in the Export Request History section.

List of Meter Export Columns​

ColumnDescription
NameThe name of the meter in MaintainX.
IDThe meter's unique identification number in the MaintainX organization.
Unit of Measure (U/M)The meter's unit of measure. For example a room temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Measurement TypeThe meter's type.
  • If the meter reading is recorded manually, the value is MANUAL.
  • If the meter reading is recorded automatically through an IoT device, the value is DEVICE.
Reading FrequencyThe frequency of the meter reading.
AssetThe name of the asset associated with the meter.
LocationThe location associated with the meter.
Last ReadingThe value of the last meter reading.
Last Read OnThe date and time of the last meter reading based on the reading frequency in UTC format.
Next Reading OnThe date and time of the next meter reading.

If you didn't define a reading frequency when you created the meter, this field stays blank.
Created byThe name of the user who created the meter.
Created onThe meter's creation date and time in UTC format.
Last updatedThe date and time a user last updated the meter in MaintainX.
ThumbnailThe internal URL to the thumbnail associated with the meter. Only users logged in to MaintainX can access a work order with this URL.
