JANUARY—Cycle Counts, Parts Inventory, Automations Updates

Help Center updates for January 2025:

  • New We added a new section about Cycle Counts, and new articles about the Parts Inventory module. We also added a feedback widget where you can rate articles and leave comments.
  • Updated We updated the docs about Automations, creating and editing work orders, and importing assets. We also made small updates to various other articles.

New Articles

Cycle Counts

You can now conduct cycle counts in MaintainX. A cycle count is a reconciliation operation where you count real world parts to ensure the number in your MaintainX parts inventory matches the number you actually have on hand. In MaintainX, you set up cycle counts in the Cycle Counts module, and conduct them using a special type of recurring work order.

Updated Articles

Workflow Automations

You can now set an initial trigger value for the Increased By and Decreased By triggers in Automations. This allows users to specify the exact value of the first trigger for an automation.

Expanded Scheduling

You can now set Monthly by weekday type schedules, e.g., every 2 months on the last Tuesday of the month, for repeating work orders. We updated the Create a Work Order article with the details.

Asset Imports

You can now undo an asset import session. We updated the Asset Imports article to explain how, and what happens when you do it.

Manufacturer and Model Fields for Assets

The Manufacturer and Model fields in the Asset form now let you choose from the list we use for the MaintainX Asset Hub. You can also enter custom values that MaintainX stores as custom fields on the asset.

We updated the look of the availability tables at the top of most articles to make it easier to understand feature availability at a glance.
