MaintainX Assist

MaintainX Assist, sometimes abbreviated as MX Assist, is an AI-powered maintenance assistant that helps you search your asset manuals, create work tasks, troubleshoot issues, and share insights directly in MaintainX. MaintainX Assist provides support for all users, from technicians to Administrators, whether they’re on the shop floor or at their desks.

Overview

MaintainX Assist facilitates your maintenance process by extracting and consolidating information from your manuals, work orders, procedures, and notes. As your team interacts with MaintainX Assist, you build an internal knowledge base that improves and gets more accurate over time.

You can use MaintainX Assist in your daily workflow to:

• Ask questions about your assets.
• Troubleshoot issues.
• Add relevant information to your work orders.
• Generate and improve procedures.
• Translate standard operating procedures (SOPs) into other supported languages.
• Consolidate information from multiple manuals.

As your team interacts with MaintainX Assist, you build an internal knowledge base that improves over time. MaintainX Assist uses information from previous interactions to improve the quality of subsequent interactions.

As a MaintainX user, use MaintainX Assist to help you execute tasks, identify issues on assets, and share information with your coworkers.

Predictive Maintenance & Insights

• As a MaintainX user, add work order summaries when executing work orders and contribute to growing your organization knowledge base.
• As an Administrator, use the knowledge created by users through MaintainX Assist to retrieve valuable insights and improve your maintenance workflow. For example, by generating more detailed procedures.

MaintainX Assist uses your organization's maintenance data to answer questions, generate content, and help you complete maintenance tasks more efficiently.

Ask Questions About Your Assets

MaintainX Assist can search for relevant information in your manuals and internal data, such as work order summaries, to answer questions about your asset.

• Do these manuals contain maintenance procedures?

Troubleshoot Issues With Your Assets

You can take a picture of an asset or describe what you observe. MaintainX Assist can help diagnose potential causes and steps to resolve them.

• The office car is leaking. What should I do?

Generate or Improve Procedures

MaintainX Assist can suggest new procedures or ways to improve your existing procedures using your MaintainX Assist knowledge base.

Add relevant information to your work orders

Limitations

MaintainX Assist enhances your maintenance workflows but has some limitations that can affect how it performs in specific scenarios.

• MaintainX Assist supports PDF files up to 300MB in size.
• For translation requests, MaintainX Assist defaults to English if the selected translation language isn't supported. For details, see Supported Languages.
• Voice notes are limited to 2 minutes.
• If MaintainX Assist can't generate an answer to your prompt, it times out after two minutes. If your chat times out, try refining or shortening your prompt and submit a new version of your request. If the issue persists, contact the MaintainX Support team for assistance.
